Wyoming Wind: The Power is in Our Hands

White Mountain Wind Power Project

Wyoming enjoys a rich energy history and beautiful National Parks. Today, renewable resources are on the forefront of the national agenda, and Wyoming has the opportunity to lead. The state ranks seventh in the nation for potential wind energy, and the power is in our hands to promote this clean, renewable resource for Wyoming’s future.

To create a more sustainable future by harnessing Wyoming’s abundant clean energy potential, Tasco Engineering proposes a state-of-the-art 240-turbine wind farm outside Rock Springs. In addition to providing 300 megawatts of clean power, the White Mountain Wind Power Project will also create more than 225 jobs (permanent and temporary) and more than $50 million in direct tax revenue for Sweetwater County, Wyoming over the four-phase project lifecycle.

The White Mountain Wind Power Project will create the following benefits for Wyoming residents:

Cost-effective electricity in the grid for Rock Springs and Green River
Reduced emissions of a million tons of CO2 per year
Zero air pollution or other waste by-products
Job creation to build the wind farm and long-term tax revenues
Millions of dollars pumped into the local economy
Reduced dependence on foreign oil & hedge against gas price volatility
